Man arrested after €160,000 cocaine seizure in Ballinasloe area

A man in his 20s was arrested, and has since been released, following a seizure of €161,000 worth of cocaine at a property in the Ballinasloe area this week.

Gardaí searched a residential property in Killimor and recovered the drugs on Monday.

The search by Gardai from the Galway Divisional Drugs Unit was part of Operation Tara and ongoing investigations targeting the sale and distribution of controlled drugs and associated criminal activity.

The man in his 20s who was arrested was subsequently released without charge pending the preparation of a file for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardai said the drugs will be sent for analysis to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI), and that investigations were ongoing.
