Athlone Boxing Club team heading to UK for multi-nations tournament

A team from Athlone Boxing Club will be travelling to the English seaside to compete in a multi-nations tournament later this week.

The Athlone contingent is travelling this Thursday to take part in the Barum Box Cup in Ilfracombe, on the North Devon coast.

The local club is no stranger to the Barum Box Cup, having also taken part in the tournament in 2023 and last year.

Ahead of the young boxers' departure, Edel McCallon of Westmeath Community Development presented them with club merchandise purchased with the assistance of the Sláintecare Healthy Communities Traveller Fund.
