White Horse Guitar Club set for live performance in Shannonbridge

Luker's Bar in Shannonbridge is set to welcome eleven-man band the White Horse Guitar Club later this month.

The band will make a stop at the Offaly venue on Saturday, September 20, as part of its Sos Beag nationwide tour.

The tour has been drawing huge crowds nationwide, with some shows already selling out. This Shannonbridge date is a rare chance for local audiences to catch their powerful harmonies, big sound, and must-see live energy.

The White Horse Guitar Club formed after an open call by Joe Carey at The White Horse pub in Ballincollig. Since then, it has grown into a celebrated musical force, praised for its rich harmonies, emotional resonance, and soulful reinterpretation of folk, Americana, and traditional Irish music. The band's cover of 'If I Needed You' by Townes Van Zandt reached over 1.7 million YouTube views, capturing the attention of audiences worldwide. “The band is very much based around camaraderie, friendship, and joy — sometimes a missing facet in bands,” says founder Joe Carey.

“All eleven of us sing in unison, harmony, and melody. The sound of eleven guitars adds a unique dimension, and on paper, it shouldn’t work – but it does.”

The Shannonbridge comes in the lead-up to the release of the White Horse Guitar Club's second album 'Sos Beag'.

Due for release on Friday, October 3, the new record is a quiet call to pause, reconnect, and lean into the power of shared song.

It was recorded upstairs at their hometown venue, The White Horse in Ballincollig the very place where their story began.

Blending original compositions and soulful reinterpretations, the record captures the essence of a group that sings and plays as one - not for perfection, but for connection.

Tickets for the White Horse Band's Shannonbridge show are priced at €25 and €1.99 booking fee. To purchase tickets, go to: lukersbar.com/the-boatyard/
