Met Eireann issues 24-hour weekend rainfall warning for Westmeath
A very wet weekend appears to be on the cards in Westmeath, with Met Éireann today issuing a 24-hour yellow level rainfall warning for the county.
The weather warning for most of the east and south of Ireland is due to take effect at midnight on Saturday and then continue throughout the day until midnight on Sunday.
Met Éireann said there would be spells of heavy rain at times, heaviest in the east and southeast, with possible impacts including localised flooding, poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions.
The counties that are subject to the yellow-level rainfall warning are: Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford.
