New Roscommon senior hurling manager Brian Hanley

Roscommon appoint new senior hurling manager

Former Westmeath senior and U21 hurling manager Brian Hanley has been appointed manager of the Roscommon senior hurling team.

Subject to ratification from the Roscommon GAA county board, Hanley will serve an initial three year term with an option to extend his managerial reign by two additional years following a review process.

A native of Athenry in County Galway, Hanley enjoyed a rewarding playing career winning eight senior county titles and three All-Ireland club medals, contributing four points to his club's 2000 All-Ireland final win over St. Joseph's Doora-Barefield of Clare.

Representing Galway at both minor and U21 level, Hanley also managed his native county to All-Ireland glory on two occasions at minor level.

Bringing a wealth of experience, Hanley's backroom team includes Kieran Callan (Ardrahan), Keith Daniels (Loughrea), Damian Lohan (Four Roads), and Kieran Farrell (Oran) with Mike Frawley filling the role of strength and conditioning coach.
