Westmeath LGFA forced to postpone two county finals

Westmeath LGFA has been forced to postpone its senior and intermediate championship finals.

The finals were originally scheduled to be played as a double header in TEG Cusack Park today (Saturday), with Goldsmiths set to face Loughnavalley in the intermediate decider and Milltown taking on defending champions St Loman's in the senior final.

Due to the impact of Storm Amy, the two finals were temporarily put back until tomorrow (Sunday), with Kinnegad (senior final) and The Downs (intermediate) pencilled in as the venues.

However, Westmeath LGFA has since confirmed that "due to adverse weather conditions" and unavailability of pitches, both finals have been postponed.

"New dates and venues will be notified when confirmed. All tickets purchased will be refunded," said Westmeath LGFA.

The Junior A Championship final (Tyrrellspass v Milltownpass) is still going head in Kinnegad (Sunday, 3pm), with St Mary's due to host Killucan in the Senior B final in Rochfortbridge (1pm), the venue having been agreed between the two clubs.
