Dolan to stay on as Garrycastle manager
Gary Dolan will remain as Garrycastle men's senior football manager for a third successive year, the club has confirmed.
In a social media post, Garrycastle GAA also confirmed the return of two time All-Star John Keane as coach.
Dolan and Keane, both former Westmeath senior footballers, previously guided Garrycastle to their last Flanagan Cup success in 2019.
Keane replaces Doron Harte who has decided to step aside from his role as coach.
The duo will be joined by Francis Doolin as selector who replaces the departing Gary Johnson.
Since his reappointment as manager, Dolan has led Garrycastle to intermediate football championship success in 2024. His charges narrowly missed out on a place in the last four of this year's senior championship when losing out to a controversial late goal by Mullingar Shamrocks at the quarter-final stage.
Thanking the departing members of the management team for their contributions, the club said that both Dolan and Keane would "bring a wealth of experience from their playing days with Westmeath and management expertise to the roles".
Garrycastle will compete in Section of the 2016 Westmeath SFC alongside Flanagan Cup holders The Downs, Coralstown/Kinnegad, Mullingar Shamrocks, Caulry and St Loman's, Mullingar.
