Oh My Word: a surprise winner for local trainer

Athlone trainer Tom Cleary saddled a surprise 33/1 winner as Oh My Word landed the concluding two-mile bumper at the rearranged fixture in Navan on Monday last.

The four-year-old led inside the final furlong to beat the Ian Donoghue-trained 14/1 shot Royal Gladiator by a short head in the colours of Seamus Ross.

Oh My Word was guided to victory by Tom Halford in what was the amateur rider's third win.
