Lough Ree RNLI hosts Christmas family open day at Coosan Point

Lough Ree RNLI volunteers and crew will host a Christmas family open day this Sunday afternoon (December 7).

Now an annual event in the local festive calendar, the Christmas open day has a special focus on young supporters.

The event will run from 2-5pm on Sunday afternoon with all members of the public welcome to attend.

Santa Claus will arrive by boat to the lifeboat station at 2.30pm and each child will have the chance to visit Santa at his grotto. There will also be an opportunity for children to enjoy some face painting and festive tunes.

The RNLI shop at the station will be open with visitors having the opportunity to purchase memorabilia, souvenirs and gifts from a wide range of stock, while a lifeboat display with other emergency responders from the Garda, Defence Forces and Fire Service in attendance, will form a focal feature of the open day.
