Fundraising Christmas lights switched on in Mount Temple
The Christmas lights at Johnny and Tom Conlon's Crib in Carn Park, Mount Temple, were switched on last Friday, December 5, at 7pm.
Fr Reji Kurian, the resident priest in Mount Temple, perfomed the honours while Tom Allen, aka TR Dallas, kindly acted as Master of Ceremonies on the evening.
This is an annual event which raises money for the Mount Temple to Lourdes Invalid Fund. There was a large gathering for this worthwhile fundraiser, including Fr Oliver Devine from Drumraney parish.
The event on Friday was reminded that the fund is available to persons wishing to visit Lourdes on their faith-healing journey. It provides part-funding for journeys to Lourdes, or whole funding in certain circumstances.
Johnny Conlon thanked all of those present for their continued support.
He also expressed his gratitude to those who helped in preparations for the event and all who continue to support the fund.
The fundraising effort is set continue over the Christmas period, with a donation box available at the crib.
