WATCH: Monksland United share proposed plans for Cushla Park
By Rebekah O'Reilly
Monksland United Football Club has unveiled a concept design proposal for the future development of Cushla Park in Monksland outlining an ambitious vision centred on sport and community use.
The club says the proposal, which is presented in a newly released concept video, aims to incorporate as many community facilities as possible, following engagement with a range of local clubs, schools and community groups. Monksland United has also received several letters of support for a development of this nature.
Club officials have stressed that the plans are conceptual and are intended as a starting point for discussion rather than a final design.
The next phase of the process will focus on engaging with the wider community, with Monksland United actively seeking feedback and suggestions on what could or should be included in any future development at the site.
The club is encouraging those who support the idea of developing Cushla Park to make their views known to local councillors, TDs, Senators, Roscommon County Council and Monksland Community Limited, which currently holds the lease on the facility.
All feedback received will be considered as part of a more comprehensive proposal that will ultimately be presented to Roscommon County Council and Monksland Community Limited.
Members of the public are also invited to submit comments and suggestions directly to the club by email at cushlaparkconceptdesign@gmail.com.
