Midlands motorists facing new toll charges in 2026

Midlands motorists face new charges for tolls on some roads from January 1 2026.

Private cars will see no price increase for 2026 on the M6 motorway, while larger vehicles such as buses and HGVs will have a ten cent increase.

Most car tolls are unaffected, with only users of the M4 Kilcock to Kinnegad and M3 Clonee to Kells motorway affected by ten cent increase.

Goods vehicles on all toll concessions roads will be impacted by a 10 cent increase, while there is 20 cent increase on HGVs of more than 3,500kg having four axels or more on the M4 Kilcock to Kinnegad motorway.

On the M50 all categories of vehicles will experience a ten cent increase, except for unregistered motor cars without a tag or video account. Heavy goods vehicles exceeding 10,000kg holding a video account will have 20 cent increase on M50.

The Dublin Port Tunnel will see the largest payment rise, an increase of €1 for southbound traffic between the hours of 6 and 10 am weekdays.
