Padraig Pearses appoint new senior coach

Padraig Pearses GAA has confirmed the appointment of Alan Flynn as the new head coach of the club's senior football team.

Flynn will be an integral part of the backroom team which has been assembled by the club's new senior football manager, Niall Murray.

In a statement issued by Padraig Pearses GAA on social media, the club said Flynn brings a wealth of experience to the role, having coached and managed at club, college and inter-county level.

"He was manager and coach of the Galway U21 teams that won All-Ireland U21 titles in 2011 and 2013, and has also served as senior football coach with Clare, Kildare and Offaly in recent years," said Padraig Pearses GAA.

"At club level, Alan has coached and managed teams across Galway, Mayo and Leitrim, leading numerous squads to success and progression within those counties."

Niall Murray was appointed as senior football manager in December following Frank Canning's departure from the role.

During Canning's three years at the helm, Pearses lost a championship semi-final against Boyle by a point, won the 2024 championship (also reaching the Connacht final later in the year) and lost the 2025 county final to All-Ireland finalists St Brigid's after a replay.
