The Donnellon family from Kiltoom took home the top prize.

Estimated €650k raised as 'Home in Athlone' draw sold 85,000 tickets

Roscommon GAA has raised an estimated €650,000 with their recent 'Win a Home in Athlone' draw, a spokesperson for the club has revealed.

Over 85,000 tickets were sold for the fundraising raffle which offered entrants the chance to win a new home at Monksland's Woodberry Manor or €300,000 cash.

Kiltoom's Donnellon family took home the main prize from the raffle, which took place on Sunday, January 11.

The draw was held in the Hodson Bay Hotel, observed by RBK Accountants and broadcast live on Facebook.

There were also six consolation prizes and the winners, including a €5,000 prize which went to Ewa Lysakowska from Westmeath (ticket 111863).

There were five €1,000 prizes, which were taken home by Paula Heneghan, Dublin (ticket 068795); Martina Casey, Roscommon (ticket 110782); Michael Burnell, Roscommon (ticket 122262); Anthony Murphy, Mayo (ticket 089169); and Andrei Olariv, Dublin (ticket 115643).

WinAHomeInAthlone was the latest in a series of fundraisers undertaken by Club Rossie, the commercial and fundraising arm of Roscommon GAA following similar draws for homes in Dublin, London and Kildare.

This time around, funds raised from the draw will go towards the development of Gaelic games in County Roscommon from day to day activities such as coaching and games development to capital projects including the continued development of King and Moffatt Dr. Hyde Park and progressing the Dermot Earley Centre.

Roscommon GAA and Club Rossie are deeply grateful to everyone from Ireland and around the world who took part in the draw.

"Your support will make a very positive impact on the future of Roscommon GAA," a spokesperson said.
