Local artists to display work at Galway city exhibition

A group of eleven artists from East Galway and parts of the Midlands will be exhibiting their work on the theme of 'Foodie Art' in Galway City Library from Monday next, February 16, to Saturday, February 28.

The artists are part of Artlink Collective, a group of 11 artists based in counties Roscommon, Galway and Offaly.

Rosemarie Langtry, Catherine and Lucy Kelly-Desmond are all past artists in residence of Abbey Road Studios in Athlone. Rosemarie now works and teaches from her studio in Clonmacnoise, while Catherine and Lucy work from their shared studio in South Roscommon.

Jackie Eastwood works from her studio in Ballinasloe and teaches workshops in the town. Ness Porter Kelly, Catherine Patrickson, Anne Towers and Noreen O’Sullivan are all East Galway-based artists from Ahascragh, Caltra, Mountbellew and Moylough. Painter Bernard Dooley lives and works in Galway City, and Martin and James McDonnell are based in Loughrea.

Artlink Collective exhibits every year in The Church Gallery of Ballinasloe Library as well as other venues in Connaught and the Midlands. Members have trained in a variety of disciplines including fine art, ceramics, textile design, animation and photography.

All are welcome to visit their 'Foodie Art' exhibition in Galway City Library from February 16-28.
