Warning of heavy rain in two local counties

Met Éireann has issued a rain warning for Roscommon and Longford.

The national weather agency said rain will be heavy at times and turning to sleet or snow together with strengthening winds.

It said the predicted weather will lead to difficult travel conditions, and poor visibility.

The yellow warning applies from 12pm on Saturday until midnight covers Cavan, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Longford, Mayo, Roscommon, and Sligo
