New date for this year's Athlone Agri Show
The date of this year's Athlone Agri Show has changed from June 14 to Sunday, June 21.
The show will have all the usual classes, with the sheep section staging five All Ireland finals for the following breeds: Belgian Beltex Sheep Society, Vendeen Sheep Society, Irish Texel Sheep Society, Hampshire Down Sheep Society, and the Dutch Spotted Sheep Society.
Also, as well as outdoor children's amusements, there will be a special marquee for the younger children and parents, with fun and games starting from 11am and going right through 'til 4pm.
The show's date of June 21 will coincide with Father's Day - and organisers are recommending that families celebrate by going along to enjoy all the activities and dance in the beer garden to the country and western musical sounds of the Declan Nerney band.
The popular annual event takes place on the farm of Michael O'Donohoe at Garnafeilagh, Athlone (Eircode: N37 V252).
