Westmeath darts side heading for All-Ireland in Killarney

It's a busy weekend for the sport of darts, with the Irish National Darts Organisation (INDO) holding the All-Ireland championships in Killarney. Westmeath are one of the counties bidding for glory in what is a seriously competitive event, with the likes of Donegal, Dublin and this year's Leinster champions Carlow are among the main contenders.

The weekend event starts on Friday at 6pm with the Inter-Counties Men’s and Ladies Singles events. The draw for the Inter-County championship will take place at 5pm on Friday and Westmeath will learn their opposition at that stage.

Saturday starts early with a managers meeting at 9am and first games getting underway at 9am. The draw for Shields (Men’s and Ladies) will take place after group games.

It concludes on Sunday, with players on the oche for an 11.30am start.

The Westmeath Darts League has six players involved with the county side this year and are sending best wishes to all concerned:

"The WDL Committee would like to wish the Westmeath County team all the best this weekend at the INDO All Irelands, taking place in Killarney," they posted.
