April date confirmed for Connaught Street Market

The Connaught Street Market will take centre stage on the west side of Athlone on Sunday, April 19.

The Connaught Street & Environs Community Group will host its first market of the year in The Hollow, at the Battery Bridge, from 12pm-4pm.

Join us for a fantastic community day in the heart of Athlone as the Connaught Street Spring Market returns Sunday April 19th from 12–4pm.

On the day, the market will be filled with local stalls, delicious food, handmade crafts and unique finds from talented local makers and businesses.

There will be fun for all the family including the returning Old Town alpacas, a fire engine on display and face painting for all the children.

Live music will also be a feature of the market next month.

The organisers are calling on local vendors, makers, bakers, crafters, food producers and small businesses 'to join us for a fantastic community day'.

'Our markets are all about supporting local, creating a vibrant street atmosphere, and bringing people together for a great day out'.

The inaugural Connaught Street Market took place in August 2025.
