Gaeltacht Átha Luain céilí to take place in Garrycastle this Thursday
Gaeltacht Átha Luain, in conjunction with Garrycastle GAA Club, is preparing to host a family-friendly céilí this Thursday (May 21).
The event is set to be an exciting evening of traditional Irish music, dance, and community spirit, and will get underway in the Garrycastle clubhouse at 8pm.
Admission is free of charge, and all are welcome to attend.
It's the second year the two groups have combined to bring céilí dancing to the Athlone public.
This event was originally planned for Seachtain na Gaeilge, in March of this year, but was postponed as a mark of respect to Garrycastle club legend Séamus Nugent who passed away on the original date.
The céilí workshop will be led by local céilí legend Tom Shine, who will serve as the Fear Tí. Renowned for his unparalleled knowledge of céilí music and his sense of humour, Tom will ensure an evening filled with craic agus spraoi.
Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or a complete beginner, this workshop promises to be an entertaining and engaging experience for all.
Light refreshments will be available on the night. "Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to celebrate the Irish language and culture in an inclusive, welcoming, and fun environment," said Gaeltacht Átha Luain.
