Westmeath corner forward Brandon Kelly

Brandon Kelly named on GAA.ie 'Team of the Week'

Westmeath forward Brandon Kelly is one of four players nominated for the GAA.ie 'Footballer of the Week'.

The Milltownpass club player has been an influential player in The Lake County's championship season and scored a total of 3-12 (3-11 from open play) during Westmeath's successful Leinster campaign.

He continued that prolific scoring form in the county's All-Ireland series Round 1 win over Cavan in TEG Cusack Park Mullingar on Saturday evening when his six point contribution saw Mark McHugh's team claim a hard earned win before a capacity crowd.

Kelly was also one of three Westmeath players named on the GAA.ie 'Football Team of the Week' announced today.

Charlie Drumm has been listed on the team of the week in his customary full back berth, while team captain Ronan Wallace has been recognised for his display against Cavan during which he scored a crucial two pointer in the second period of the game's extra time.

Voting will close at 10am on Wednesday, June 3, and the winner will be announced on GAA.ie.
