Roscommon prepare for Oscar Traynor debut

Oscar Traynor Cup - The first game for the Roscommon & District League in this season's Oscar Traynor Cup competition takes place next Saturday at the Donegal venue of Ballyaar (near Letterkenny) with a 12.30pm kick-off. This season the Roscommon and District League are in a three-team group with the Donegal League and the Sligo Leitrim League and one team comes out of the group. Saturday's game is a big game for the Roscommon & District League representative side as they would really need to beat the Donegal side before facing the Sligo Leitrim League on home territory. Manager Gerry Tully and his assistants will be without the injured Donald Ward who is out injured this season but overall they retain almost all the remaining players who reached last seasons semi-final. The Roscommon & District League played Donegal last season at Taughmaconnell and came out on top on a 2-1 scoreline. Conor McSharry from Castlerea Celtic and Declan Murphy from Kilkerrin Utd scored for the home side but overall it was a good team effort. Gerry Tully and his team are very confident of getting a result and then having a real go against the Sligo/Leitrim team in the next game at Lecarrow. Roscommon & District League Panel.
