Delight for Dancezone
This week saw members of Dancezone Stage School celebrating as news crept through that the midlands' top performing stage school was voted into the final four in the TV3 Glee competition. The search for Ireland's top "Glee Group" started last February, with audition videos submitted. Louis Walsh, Mikey Graham and Caroline Downey - MCD Promotions chose Dancezone as one of the top 20 entrants. The nation voted and on Thursday morning last it was announced that Dancezone is into the final four and in with a real chance of scooping the top prize. The top prize is a chance to perform in the O2 along with Westlife, Boyzone, JLS and Jedward in the star studded Cheerios Childline Concert which is scheduled to take place in early December. Dancezone members are no strangers to performing at such a high level but this is never is taken for granted and achievements like this always create great excitement as the level of success continues to progress year after year. This competition in particular is special for Dancezone as it all about the full performance range, singing, dancing and acting, skills all members are encouraged to develop while in the school. Dancezone Director Sandra Julian was delighted with the good news. "It's an amazing achievement for the youngsters involved, their families, the midlands and most of all the rest of Dancezone. I'm so, so, proud of them. They are great students who work so hard and never complain, despite all the demands of performing to this level, this is their moment to shine and I'm hoping everybody will support them and vote for them online when the voting lines open." This week Dancezone has been presented with a Glee song to reproduce as their own, both vocally and choreographically. They have just one week to do so and then they must perform live on The Morning Show some day next week. The nation will vote when all four groups have performed with voting lines open on June 28 and the winner will be announced in July. "It's a mammoth task," says Sandra, "but the bunch are well up for it and I believe they will give it their best shot. All of us really appreciate everyone who cast their vote for Dancezone and we are hoping that they will do the same again after June 28."
