Smyths reports 'unprecedented surge in orders'

Smyths Toys Ireland have asked people to bear with them as they face an “unprecedented surge in orders at this time”.

The statement from the company comes in the wake of big queues forming outside its stores nationwide, including in Athlone, as reported by Westmeath Independent earlier this week.

In response to the demand, the company moved to reassure people.

“We have plenty of stock in our warehouses and more are arriving each week. Please bear with us while we adjust to meet this early surge in demand.”

However, it said that the 'Click and Collect' facility will not be available over the next few days as stores concentrate on restocking.

It said home delivery will only be available at certain times until it can bring on extra delivery capacity.
