Rosemount NS marks retirement of principal and teacher
Rosemount National School marked the retirement of two teaching staff, including of its principal, recently.
Following its end of year school mass on June 17, there was a special event to mark the retirement of Mary Fleming, Principal, and teacher, Marie Reid
Both Mary and Marie joined the staff in 1988, with Mary becoming principal in 2012.
Speakers on the night were Assumpta Fox, chairperson Board of Management, Fr Jimmy Murray O.Carm, Teresa Farrell, deputy principal, and all thanked both teachers for their lifetime of dedication and commitment to Rosemount National School. They outlined how sad they were to see both teachers leave and wished them well in their retirement.
Both Mary and Marie spoke of how much they enjoyed working in Rosemount National School, and how they will miss all involved. They thanked their fellow staff, past work colleagues, the Board of Management, the parents and pupils of the school and their own respective families for all their help and support.
Presentations were made to both teachers on behalf of the Board of Management, the current parents and pupils and Rosemount GAA.
The evening concluded with refreshments served in Rosemount Community Centre.
