Former Dublin football manager Jim Gavin to speak at Athlone event

Roscommon GAA and Club Rossie have announced an evening with the former Dublin gaelic football manager Jim Gavin in Athlone's Hodson Bay Hotel on Friday, November 24.

Gavin, who won one All Ireland championship as a player and six as a manager, will talk about "culture, innovation and success" on the night.

Roscommon GAA chairperson Brian Carroll said: "Jim Gavin is one of the biggest names in GAA and one of the most successful managers of all time and it's fantastic that he's joining us."

The manager of the Roscommon senior football team, Davy Burke, will also be on stage, along with a number of players. The MC for the event will be RTE Sport's Darragh Maloney.

Roscommon GAA said the night would include "a drinks reception, premium dining, a brilliant auction and raffle plus a whole lot more".
