Public access defibrillator installed at The Bounty in Athlone
The Athlone Emergency Defibrillator Group has welcomed the provision of another publicly-accessible defibrillator which has been installed at The Bounty bar and restaurant in Coosan.
"Many thanks to Tom Silke and Paschal Dillon at The Bounty for providing our latest defib and also for providing our group with rooms for meetings and training," said Cllr John Dolan, chairperson of the group.
"This defibrillator covers a large residential area, as well as all of the players who use the Buccaneers rugby club facilities. Once again, thanks to Dave McGovern of DMG Electrical for the installation and for all of his help in the past.
"This is another step towards our goal of having a rescue-ready defibrillator within four minutes of any cardiac arrest in the Athlone area.
"If any group or area wishes to contact any member of our committee about getting some help to provide a defibrillator in their area, please do. It may help save someone's life in the future," concluded Cllr Dolan.
