Fire damage at Athlone property

Athlone Fire Service attended a fire last evening (Thursday) at a property in Auburn Heights.

The fire began in the garage of the property, which was extensively damaged. There was also some fire damage to the attic, and smoke damage elsewhere.

A unit of Ferbane Fire Service was also in attendance at the incident, which was reported to the emergency services at around 6.30pm.

Fire Service personnel had the blaze under control within 40 minutes, and left the scene at around 9.30pm.

No one was present in the property at the time of the fire.
