Bloomsday Recital at Athlone Castle

Athlone Castle

Athlone Castle is preparing to celebrate Bloomsday on Saturday by having an exciting literary recital starting at 2pm, with several of Athlone's well-known writers, who will read passages from some of James Joyce's famous novels.

The world wide festival celebrates June 16, 1904, the day depicted in Irish novelist and poet, James Joyce's novel Ulysses. The day is named after Leopold Bloom, the central character in Ulysses.

This is a free event taking place in the castle courtyard and all are welcome to attend. For more information contact Athlone Castle on 090 6442130.
