Moate's annual Christmas market takes place this weekend

Moate's fifth annual Christmas market will take place this Sunday, and the festive event just gets bigger and better each year.

The town's main street will be transformed and lined with stalls stocked with local produce, fine foods, arts, crafts, jewellery and many Christmas gift ideas.

It wouldn't be Christmas without Santa, and the special guest arrives from the North Pole at 4pm.

The market will also be accompanied by the very popular Busking Competition with a prize money of €350 kindly sponsored by Supermacs of Moate.

A great day is guaranteed for all the family, with entertainment, live music and shopping for locally produced goods, crafts, knitwear, jewellery, wreaths and much more.

The market begins at 2pm with live music starting on stage at 2.30pm.

Alex Roe, Sabrina Fallon, Jiggers of Eireann, Adrian Rabbitte, Adrian Hiney, Maggie Dunne, Theresa O'Hara and others will perform on the live stage.

The festivities will then continue until 7pm on Sunday.
