Athlone ICPPD course gains national accreditation

Based in Athlone and with an outreach at the Galway- Mayo Institute of Technology, the International College for Personal and Professional Development (ICPPD) was set up to inspire, encourage and support continuous learning. The college provides training and education to adult learners interested in personal development or a career in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and to professionals already working in those areas. The college aims to achieve and maintain a standard of excellence in its programmes and students, and in its staff as educators, through a combined commitment to a person-centred, holistic approach for the individual learner. ICPPD's goal is to be a leading provider of accredited personal and professional programmes in the area of Counselling and Psychotherapy. With that in mind, ICPPD is delighted to announce that its three year Professional Diploma in Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy is now accredited by The National Association for Pastoral Counselling and Psychotherapy (NAPCP). This course also meets the criteria of The Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). ICPPD's 30-hour Personal Development programme is suitable for anyone who is seeking to understand themselves more fully. The aim of the programme is to develop the learners' self-esteem and self-confidence, to learn a way to communicate that enhances relationships and to explore ways of behaving respectfully towards oneself and others. This five-day programme is due to commence in April. Previous learners have stated that they found it a life changing experience. The intensive Foundation in Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy course is designed especially for adult learners who wish to complete the 100-hour Foundation Certificate in just four months. It is suitable for anyone wishing to progress in autumn 2012 onto the NAPCP Accredited Three Year Professional Diploma in Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy. The programme focuses on developing the participants' counselling and psychotherapy skills of personal presence and awareness of process. Attention is also paid to developing the learners interpersonal and group skills. This course starts at ICPPD's Athlone Campus on March 6 and at GMIT on March 7.
