Region included in Yellow level alert for wind

Met Éireann has issued a yellow level weather warning for the entire country tomorrow.

The alert is for wind, with Met Éireann stating that there is the likelihood of very strong and gusty southerly winds associated with Storm Kathleen.

Forecasters say possible effects of the wind include:

• Some fallen trees

• Difficult travel conditions

• Debris, loose objects displaced

• Coastal flooding

• Wave overtopping

The wind warning comes into effect at 5am on Saturday and expires at 8pm.

Separately, there are two orange level wind warnings in place

A orange warning is in place for Cork, Kerry and Waterford, from 7am to 2pm, with Met Éireann warning of gale force southerly winds, with some severe and damaging gusts.

There is another organge wind warning for Galway and Mayo from 9am to 6pm.
