Print | Email

Are you off to college this autumn or a teenager who would like to learn how to cook healthy fast food?

Well, if the answer is yes, then an upcoming three-day cookery camp, hosted by local Nutritional Consultant and Whole-Foods Cookery Instructor Lynda McFarland will be of major interest.

It's aimed at teenagers, male and female who are heading off to college shortly or leaving home for the first time. From July 28 to July 30 Lynda will be teaching the youngsters how to prepare quick, healthy, student budget-friendly breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks. Things like how to make tasty smoothies easy muesli and granola, flapjacks, tasty homemade burgers, quick pasta, rice and fish dishes, simple lasagne, all of which is sure to impress the family or fellow housemates.

"It is basically fast food that is nutritious and amazingly a lot cheaper than the unhealthy processed stuff," Lynda enthused this week.

The camp kicks off in Our Lady's Bower on Wednesday, July 28, to Friday, July 30, from 10am to 2pm daily. The cost is €30 per day or €75 for the full three days. That includes ingredients, recipes and lunch each day. For further information or bookings call 087 7927471.
