Weekend tickets sold out for Body and Soul Festival

In fitting alignment with its fifth anniversary and Summer Solstice celebrations, organisers of Body & Soul Festival have announced that all weekend tickets are now sold out and that there is a very limited number of SUNDAY day tickets still available at €55 from www.ticketmaster.ie. This is the fifth year in a row that the festival has sold out!

Also as part of the anniversary celebrations the main stage will be opened tomorrow night, for the first time ever, with a special performance by Darkside, (the new partnership between electronic producer Nicolas Jaar and guitarist Dave Harrington) and JAPE has been added to the line-up for Saturday evening.

Organisers have been onsite for the last three weeks building the festival set and devising the little things that make a festival great. There is an extraordinary selection of art installations, pop-up performances, hidden parties and impromptu gigs stitched in to a kaleidoscopic sixty hours. Within its three main realms, hundreds of colourful, quirky nooks and crannies are dotted through a maze of walled gardens, the woodlands and the lakeside.
The team behind the otherworldly festival describe it as three days and nights of music, magic and mischief. Festival Director, Avril Stanley said|: “The line-up is probably the best we have ever had and the production in terms of art and stage installations is just stunning. We can’t wait to welcome everyone on-site to the festival tomorrow and celebrate this special birthday with us!”

The family-friendly festival with a heart-shaped mind and cutting-edge soul invites the 8,500 festival-goers to escape from their everyday and step inside its enchanted otherworld. Consistently left-of-centre with their music and artistic choices the intimate festival has set a precedent for shining a spotlight on new, exciting and up-and-coming acts before they explode on the scene.

Among the stellar line up this year are: uber-glam stars GOLDFRAPP; Canadian compositional genius CARIBOU; cult hero JOHN GRANT; the legendary GARY NUMAN; Protégé, piano prodigy and Ivor Novello-nominated composer JON HOPKINS; the Reggae institution MAX ROMEO; Portuguese dance music project BURAKA SOM SISTEMA and electronic duo MOUNT KIMBIE.

Some of the other exciting features include gramophone grooves, bubbling hot tubs by the lake, acoustic sessions, marshmallows on a bonfire, twinkling pathways, bacchanalian feasts, saunas in the sanctuary, disco yurts, hidden curiosity stages, moonlight masquerade ball, long-table banquets and much, much more.

A limited number of Sunday tickets are available for EU55 including booking fee and VAT for those wishing to attend on the Sunday only. Note: No camping is permitted with this ticket. Sunday ticket holders are not permitted to bring alcohol into the festival.
