Local td appointed to key oireachtas committees

Fine Gael TD for Longford Westmeath, Gabrielle McFadden, has been appointed to two key Oireachtas Committees; the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and the Select Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality.

“I am honoured to have been appointed by An Taoiseach Enda Kenny, to both the PAC and the Select Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality.”
Deputies John Perry, Patrick O’Donovan and Gabrielle McFadden have been appointed to the cross-party PAC to replace the Fine Gael members of that committee who have taken on new roles.

“The PAC serves an extremely important function as a public watchdog and I look forward to contributing to the work of this Committee,” the local TD commented.

She concluded: “I also look forward to making significant inputs into key legislation and policy areas as a member of the Select Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality. This Committee considers and amends legislation in the fields of justice, security, the rule of law, equality, defence and immigration. It has a major role to play in ensuring that Irish society is safe, secure, just, open-minded and impartial”.
