New Mayor of Athlone elected

Fine Gael Cllr John Dolan was today elected as Mayor of the Athlone Municipal District.

Dolan succeeds his fellow party colleague, Cllr Tom Farrell, in the role of Athlone's first citizen.

Today's AGM of the Athlone Municipal District heard tributes to the outgoing mayor before Dolan was elected to the post unopposed.
