Rethink how you train your gaa team

The Three Tiers, a new eBook launched via the www.gaatraining.com, provides a fresh approach to Physical Preparation in Gaelic Games.

According to its author, Wexford native Mick Heffernan, it is “a must have training manual for all players, coaches, trainers and clubs”.

According to the eBook’s press release, ‘so much emphasis has been put into physical preparation that players and trainers can get confused and overwhelmed with the endless amount of information and, indeed, misinformation available. It is hard to know what they should and should not be doing. The GAA itself is behind in creating a solution to the problem, with very little resources available to players, trainers and coaches on how to successfully integrate physical preparation into a GAA training environment. The Three Tiers has been designed to fill that void’.

The author, Mick Heffernan, is a player and journalist from Wexford, currently undergoing Personal Trainer accreditation at the Queensland Academy of Fitness, Australia.

The Three Tiers is only available online at www.gaatraining.com/shop

He said: “After becoming frustrated by conventional training methods, and the traditional training approach of the GAA community, I decided to try and put a platform in place in order to get some helpful and practical information available to trainers, players, and clubs. The Three Tiers is the result of 20 years of playing Gaelic Games, three years of research, countless interviews with some of the best trainers inside and outside of the GAA community, and a goal that a fresh training approach could be brought to the GAA fields across the country.”
