Moate CS to face St Peter"s

The three Westmeath schools still left in the Leinster Colleges SF "A" Championship have been kept apart in the quarter-final draw. Moate Community School - who claimed a famous victory over perennial contenders St Patrick"s, Navan, last Friday - have been drawn against St Peter"s of Wexford. Meanwhile, St Joseph"s, Rochfortbridge - who last week eliminated Marist College, Athlone, face a trip to Dublin to take on St. Benildus College. The other Westmeath team, Coláiste Mhuire, Mullingar, have been drawn at home to last year"s defeated semi-finalists St Mary"s, Edenderry. Saturday, February 7, had been mooted as the date for the quarter-finals to take place, but with Westmeath playing Offaly in the Leinster U-21 FC on that day, there may be a rethink. Moate CS team captain Kieran Martin (Maryland) is expected to feature for the Westmeath U-21 team and other players from the three Westmeath schools may also be part of the Westmeath U-21 panel for the Offaly game. Last year"s Leinster Colleges champions, Athlone Community College, relinquished their title last Friday when they were defeated by Good Counsel, New Ross. But with three Westmeath teams still in the hunt this year, there are still hopes of the prestigious title remaining in the Lake County. Quarter-Final Draw Mullingar: Col.
