ACC could have to wait four years for new school

Local TD Denis Naughten has claimed that the completion of the new Community College in Athlone could take four years. The Minister for Education stated that, following the inclusion of the new school in the PPP bundle, it would then take a further four years before the school would be completed. 'This is totally unacceptable and I"m calling on the Minister to ensure that this project is prioritised as part of the building programme,' stated Deputy Naughten. 'The current pupils and staff have waited long enough for a new school, and surely in the current climate it must be possible to have this building fast tracked,' concluded Denis Naughten.
