Vote for your local sports star for 2012

MEMBERS of the public are invited to cast their vote for the 'Readers' Choice' award in the Westmeath Independent/Hodson Bay Hotel Sports Awards. The Reader's Choice award is separate to the overall Westmeath Independent/Hodson Bay Hotel Sports Award. Both awards will be announced and presented to the winner at a gala banquet in the picturesque Hodson Bay Hotel, Athlone on Friday, February 8.

The twelve monthly award winners are listed below, and voting via text message opened on January 9. Voting is via this number: 57199. Each of the monthly award winners are assigned a number from 1 to 12, coinciding with the month in which they were chosen for the award. Voters text INDO followed by the nominee's number to 57199. For example, to vote for the January winner, readers need to text INDO 1 to 57199; for the February winner, text INDO 2 to 57199; and so on.

The Readers' Choice Award winner will be announced on Friday, February 8 at the awards ceremony in the Hodson Bay Hotel. The overall winner in the 2012 Westmeath Independent/Hodson Bay Hotel Sports Awards will also be announced on the night.
