Coming Soon... Westmeath Independent Compact Edition

Coming soon... a new compact Westmeath Independent

We’ve been serving large parts of the Midlands since 1846. And as you’d expect from a paper that’s gone through the Famine, the War of Independence and the Swinging Sixties, there’s been plenty of evolution and change along the way.

And now, with that sense of innovation that’s been the hallmark of the paper for the last 167 years, we are proud to deliver a fresh shape to the best news, lifestyle and sport coverage in the region.

On November 6, we will introduce a brand new compact Westmeath Independent. We’ll be better and brighter than ever, with even more news, more sport, more features and more pictures, and all in an easier-to-read format.

Editor Tadhg Carey said: “Despite all the changes over the years, there’s one constant you can always rely on; one constant that will remain in our new compact shape. The Westmeath Independent will always be firmly at the heart of this community, providing a top quality service to our readers and advertisers.”

Sales manager Padraic Martin and the advertising team are looking forward to the new and improved Westmeath Independent and are confident it will be very well received by local businesses.

Padraic said: “Indeed over the past few days we have been receiving a great reaction from many local businesses and the new format will make the newspaper more attractive than ever.” From an advertising point of view it is widely accepted that the Westmeath Independent delivers the largest market of all local media.

Westmeath Independent advertisers can target an un-rivaled and independently audited readership in the Athlone plus 20 to 30 minute drive-time catchment area. In fact the most recent Joint National Readership Survey reported that 55% of all adults living in this area are readers of the Westmeath Independent. So local businesses can be confident of the best possible result and return for their marketing budget.
