Pearses v faithleachs match postponed due to bereavement

 

The Roscommon SFC semi-final between Padraig Pearses and St Faithleach’s has been postponed due to a bereavement.

Lucy O’Connor, the mother of St Faithleach’s goalkeeper Stephen O’Connor, died as a result of a farm accident yesterday (Wednesday).

The Padraig Pearses v St Faithleach’s match was due to be played on Sunday at Dr Hyde Park, before the other semi-final between St Brigid’s and Western Gaels (3.30pm).

The Junior B Football Championship quarter-final between St Faithleach’s B and St Aidan’s B, due to be played tomorrow (Friday), has also been postponed.

In the death notice (published on rip.ie), it is stated that Lucy O’Connor (née Moroney), Kilrooskey, Co Roscommon and formerly of Dungarvan, Co Waterford, is the much loved wife of Patsy and mother of Una, Stephen, Peter, Kevin, David and Patrick.

She will be very sadly missed by her family, sisters, brothers, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace.

The deceased will be reposing at her home on Saturday from 2pm to 7pm. Removal on Sunday to St Mary’s Church, Ballagh arriving for Mass of the Resurrection at 12.30. Burial afterwards in Kilgefin Cemetery
