Top prizes for Moate cake designer

A cake designer based in Moate has secured two international prizes, to add to accolades she scooped earlier this year.
Tanya Ross, of Novel-T Cakes, took part in the Cake International, a renowned sugarcraft, cake decorating and baking festival, in Birmingham recently.

She entered two pieces, a horse head cake in the Supported or Sculpted Novelty Cake category and her Ireland cake in the International Class category where entrants were tasked with making a cake representing the country where they live. She won gold for the horse head cake and silver for the Ireland cake.
It follows success in February, when Tanya won a gold and a bronze medal at the All-Ireland Catex Chef Ireland competition.
Tanya opened her business three years ago and teaches sugar craft classes at Deco Bake in Athlone and also in Galway, Dublin, Limerick and Clane.
