Fabulous Friday for local pair!

It was a moment of “pure scattiness” which prompted a local lady to buy not one but two separate Euromillions tickets in the Supervalu store, Monksland Retail Centre in February.

One ticket was played on Saturday, February 6 (for the EuroMillions draws on Tuesday 9 and Friday 12 February 2016 - €3 ticket per draw), while the other ticket was played on Tuesda, February 9, the day of the lucky EuroMillions draw.

Both tickets, each with the same numbers, resulted in two separate Match five wins for the ladies who play the lottery game together, each of which was worth €21,449.

The two lucky friends, each of whom are now €21,449 richer, collected their wins today in National Lottery offices in Dublin

They were very happy with the way the double win evolved.

“I don’t know what made me forget I’d already played! We’re only playing EuroMillions together since this year, and our lucky numbers were 6,9,13,28,37, which we picked ourselves.There were only two Match 5 EuroMillions wins in Ireland on that draw night, and we had both of them, so we’re delighted with ourselves”, they grinned as they were presented with their lucky cheques today in Dublin.

“We plan to use the wins to holiday in either France, Portugal or Eastern Europe. We’ll pay off a few bills as well. And we’ll definitely continue to play EuroMillions together – it’s obviously a really lucky game for us,” they smiled.
