Flooding public consultation day in Athlone

Are you at risk of flooding? A Public Consultation Day is being held in Athlone Civic Centre today right up to 7.30pm, in relation to Preliminary Shannon Catchment-wide options to manage flood risk including summer flooding in the Shannon Callows.

Jacobs Engineering Ireland, who are conducting the Shannon CFRAM Study on behalf of the OPW and with the support of local County Councils, are developing Preliminary Flood Risk Management Options for Shannon catchment.  

Mayor of Athlone Municipal District, Cllr Tom Farrell has urged anyone in any flood prone areas to attend and have their say on the plans.

Members of the Jacobs Engineering Ireland Shannon CFRAM Study project team will be available to discuss and explain the options to all attending on the day.
