Tom Burke, who has run 5K a day for two months.

5K a day challenge to conclude this weekend . . . with a marathon!

ATHLONE man Tom Burke, who has run 5K every day since the start of December, in aid of Pieta House, will bring his challenge to an end this weekend with a marathon.

Tom, who committed to run 5K every single day in December and January, will run a full marathon to round it off tomorrow, Saturday, in Lilliput, Westmeath.
“Nearly everybody knows something about the good work they do in Pieta House,” he says. “This is about raising awareness and raising money as well.”

He is indebted to people who are offering support, the runners who have joined him in the 5Ks and his family, work colleagues and friends.
Tom set an initial target of €1,000 but after this was surpassed, his new target was €3,000. He then raised it to €5,0000, but has now surpassed this!
