Accommodation sought for Fleadh Cheoil 2020

Organisers of the 2020 Fleadh Cheoil Na hEireann in Mullingar are urging people across Westmeath to provide accommodation to visitors.

The Fleadh takes place next year from August 2 to August 9. The official fleadh website went live this week.

The event is the world’s largest annual celebration of Irish music, language, song and dance. It is organised by Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann.

According to the Fleadh Cheoil committee there is an estimated 500,000 visitors expected to visit Mullingar over the week of the Fleadh so a huge amount of accommodation will be needed to host people and entire families.

The Fleadh committee is encouraging the people of Westmeath and Mullingar to get involved in key aspects of this great event such as providing accommodation and volunteering over the period of the fleadh.

If you wish to host visitors to the area during the event you can register your private rented accommodation on the new website fleadhcheoil.ie.

Those who wish to volunteer their time over the period of the Fleadh can register their interest in becoming involved through the new website. Again, with such huge estimated visitor numbers, volunteers are needed in their hundreds for a broad range of different roles.

On the new website the business and general public community can find out how to become sponsors of the Fleadh with a range of different options for people who are interested in being a financial supporter of Fleadh2020.
