A local resident has prepared a stunning video of the town's deserted streets amid the current lockdown.

Shamie Gawronski, who is originally from Poland but lives in Athlone, posted the clip on his YouTube channel yesterday (Thursday).

Using drone footage, recorded on a clear Spring day, the video shows the streets of the town emptied of traffic and pedestrians.
