Belvedere to reopen at end of month

Westmeath County Council has said that Belvedere House, Gardens and Park will reopen on April 26, subject to Covid public health guidelines, for season ticket holders and booked admission tickets.

All visitors are required to fully comply with HSE guidance on protecting themselves and others from Covid-19 and with signage as erected.

In the first phase, Belvedere will be open for visitors to enjoy the woodland walks, lakeshore and the views.

Other facilities in Belvedere will open as government guidelines and circumstances allow, the council said.

Chairman of the Belvedere Committee, Cllr Bill Collentine, welcomed the move as a sign that the country is emerging from a difficult period and that the public can enjoy the facility.
