'He hasn't forgotten his roots': Lions release video on Henshaw-Buccaneers links

The British and Irish Lions has this week released a video exploring the abiding connection between Robbie Henshaw and his home club, Buccaneers.

Robbie's Dad, Tony Henshaw, Buccaneers' PRO Michael Silke, and Athlone-based rugby coach Charlie Couper are among the familiar faces in the video, which shows supporters at The Bounty cheering Robbie and the Lions on while watching last weekend's first test match.

A British & Irish Lions spokesman said grassroots clubs were "the heartbeat of our game" and deserved recognition for all that they do.

"We hope by profiling players and their club of origin we can help promote the club game and bring supporters closer to the Lions.

“Robbie's passion for grassroots rugby shines through, and his loyalty to Buccaneers is fantastic to see," said the spokesperson.
